One thing, though--I don&#039;t think you meant to say that competence &amp; enthusiasm are &quot;mutually exclusive&quot;;   &quot;mutually exclusive&quot; means that the two things are incompatible, which doesn&#039;t seem consistent with the rest of what you&#039;re saying.  I assume that you meant that they can exist independently of one another--and I *completely* agree with you on that point.
