You are absolutely right about this, as are those who said it also applies to academic libraries. The key is getting to know your community and soliciting feedback. It’s amazing how good the local community feels when their voice is heard, and their opinions and needs are being used to help guide decisions. For lack of a better term it’s a win win situation.

I think you are absolutely correct. Rao’s may work for me, while Ragu or Prego or Paul Newman may be on the menu for another. And of course, there’s my homemade sauce that compares to no other.

I do believe that community is the key, not our collections in whatever format. I think you nailed it. Thanks for a great post.
