After a few years, it was what my dad called “SSDD” (same ****, different day).

This is part and parcel why I don’t work in a public library, particularly large systems like New York City. I want to spend my time doing my job, not fighting for its mere existence.

It is less a matter of libraries being saved, which I contend has an air of resignation and fatalism about it, than libraries promoting their importance through actions.

I don’t know if my bills will take another year on it.
